What are emotions?

Well, first of all: In the social and scientific world there is a lot of discussion โš”๏ธ around that question!

๐Ÿค  Iโ€™ll start with that: There are ๐Ÿฒ ๐—ฏ๐—ฎ๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ฐ ๐—ฒ๐—บ๐—ผ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜€: happiness, sadness, anger, fear, disgust and surprise.

Youโ€™ve probably heart of Paul Ekman (yes, the one with the micro mimics and the TV Series ๐Ÿ“บ!) He identified those six basic emotions that are universal all over the world, share the same facial expression across cultures, countries etc.ย Thereโ€™re more of course and happiness is a whole other thing, but in ๐—ฒ๐—บ๐—ผ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ด๐˜‚๐—น๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป, when it comes to the nasty sensations ๐Ÿคฌ in my opinion ๐—ถ๐˜ ๐—ฎ๐—น๐—น ๐—ฏ๐—ผ๐—ถ๐—น๐˜€ ๐—ฑ๐—ผ๐˜„๐—ป ๐˜๐—ผ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ฒ ๐—ฏ๐—ฎ๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ฐ ๐—ฒ๐—บ๐—ผ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜€.

Having an overview over the options helps with recognizing them. Which then ๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ฝ๐˜€ ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚ ๐˜„๐—ถ๐˜๐—ต ๐—ฑ๐—ผ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐˜€๐—ผ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐˜๐—ต๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—ฎ๐—ฏ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐˜ ๐—ถ๐˜.
